CAMP RULES.
Campsite Etiquette
There is a great sense of community when camping and it's nice to be sociable with your fellow campers and to assist them if they need help. Do not be afraid to ask for camping advice! Everyone has to start somewhere. If a fellow camper looks like they are struggling, a friendly offer of assistance is likely to be appreciated.
At the same time remember that some campers just want peace and quiet and aren't looking to socialise with others, so a pleasant greeting, an offer of help, or passing the time of day is enough until you are sure they are looking to make friends.
Leave No Trace
Leave no trace is a set of ethics, followed by all people who enjoy the wilderness experience, that minimises impact on the environment. The principles have been developed to fit a wide range of outdoor settings and encourage all users to have a gentle, light impact on the natural world that we all enjoy.
Here at Fire & Stars we hope our guests take memories and photos and leave only footprints.
During your visit to Fire & Stars you can leave no trace by following these points:
Camp as unobtrusively as possible
Keep noise to a minimum in respect for neighbours and wildlife
Remove all litter (even other people's)
Remove tampons and sanitary towels (burying them doesn't work as animals dig them up again)
Use toilets provided
At all time, help preserve the environment
Light only small fires in designated area
Do not cut trees or vegetation
Leave camp better than you found it
Removing all traces of your tent pitch
If you are in any doubt about what you're doing, don’t do it
Sssh! Quiet Please!
Please keep noise to a minimum, particularly during the early morning and late at night and so we ask that are guests are particularly quiet between the hours of 10:00 pm - 7:30 am.
Noise can travel for miles in the open countryside and so we do not allow music to be played in the woodlands. Headphones are a great way to enjoy listening to music without disturbing others!
Campfires
The campfire is such a focal point of the wild camping experience and to ensure that our guests can enjoy their campfires safely we ask that all campfires are restricted to the purpose built fire pits you will find around the woodlands.
For environmental reasons, we ask that you burn only the wood provided by Fire & Stars which you are able to order with your booking. Kindling, firelighters and swedish logs are also available to purchase with your booking.
Arrivals/Departures
Please ensure that you arrive at the campsite within the designated arrival times so that we can ensure that a member of staff is there to greet you and orientate you. We cannot guarantee entry to the woodlands if you arrive earlier than the stated check-in times. (However there is a small pub just a short distance away where you can grab a drink if you do arrive a little early!).
Check-in between 12 midday and 6pm.
Please ensure that you depart the woodlands by 11:00am on your check-out day.
Terms & Conditions.
In addition to the site rules above we also have some terms and conditions that apply to your booking. Please read through them below.
